     Lately, I have been getting outside and walking my labyrinth. I wasn't able to walk for most of the summer as I had a knee injury, but this fall I got back to walking almost daily. I love the energy, and I am walking multiple times in a row to get a good walking work out. Getting the benefits in more than one way. We had our first big snowstorm getting about 9 inches of snow. I went out in the late morning and walked the labyrinth to push down the snow. A few hours later in the afternoon I went back out to be sure I had a path through. As I walked and was kicking the snow to the side, I felt that joy I felt as a child when out playing in the snow. I was so happy. I thought it would be fun to make a snow angel but was afraid I wouldn't be able to get back up so I allowed that fear to stop me from doing what my inner child wanted to do. 
     It has been over a week and as I was walking the labyrinth today, I fell. I have never fallen in 21 years of walking the labyrinth. I landed on a soft cushion of snow and did not hit any of the rocks. I got myself up and continued walking. I felt a twinge in my back but wanted to get my 4 times done. When I stopped in the center, and took some breaths to quiet my mind I felt that the fall was actually a lesson to show me that I could get back up without help. But I wonder, did I have help? Was it an angel who helped me fall just in the right place so I would not get injured? When I think about my life, I have fallen many times and got back up. I believe in those times I had the help of God and the angels. They help me stand on my feet and move on.
    I know more will be coming in my life where I may feel like I can't, but I will remember this fall and get myself back up and move forward, knowing I have spiritual helpers who were sent to me by my creator.
     So, guess what I did? I walked over to a spot where the snow was undisturbed, got down and made a snow angel. I laid there for a few minutes. The cold of the snow felt good on my back. My inner child was filled with joy! I found another spot where the snow was perfect and again, I made another angel. It has set the tone for my day, and I know I will look for the joy of today. 
     I little side note. I had a beautiful reading in the practice group I attend on Saturday. I was told that water is a big part of my being, and I do know this. I love the ocean and being in my pool. I was not able to get to the ocean this summer and really missed swimming at the beach. It is difficult in the winter as it is just too cold to swim. I told her of my desire to lie in the snow and make the snow angels, and she told me to just do it as snow is a form of water. I am very happy she gave me that nudge. I may just have to do it again maybe with my grandson next time!
